Miles HR has a fantastic full-time opportunity available for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join the Finance team with our forward thinking client in the engineering sector in Downtown Vancouver.
This position is responsible to provide financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control.
Also, this position is responsible to secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts; resolving discrepancies. The successful candidate will be reporting to Project Managers and the Controller to prepare billing invoices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare bank deposits
Perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
Verify discrepancies by resolving clients' billing issues
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Prepare various weekly and monthly billing & reports
Collections - monitor accounts and take appropriate actions with customers to arrange for payment
Issue monthly billing statements for customers
Ensure that delinquent customers are contacted on a continual basis
Enlist the effort of Project Managers when necessary to accelerate the collection process
AR experience in Construction, Architecture or Engineering industry is preferable
Proficient in Excel & Word
Experience with Sage is a strong asset
Strong analytical skills
Experience with reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to identify and recommend new approaches and process improvements
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :
An annual salary of $55,000-65,000 , depending on experience
3 weeks' vacation
