Summary of Role & Responsibilities :

At Unica, the foundation of our success begins with our people. We are looking for a passionate and resourceful, career-minded person to join our team and offer best in class service as an Associate Underwriter on our Commercial Insurance team.

The successful candidate will be naturally a curious, enthusiastic, team player who is able to efficiently and accurately offer best in class service to our portfolio of Broker partners.

The position requires strong attention to detail and organization; an ability to prioritize and successfully manage accountabilities within a fast-paced and high volume.

  • Provide exceptional service to your assigned brokers alongside the Production & Portfolio Underwriters with respect to new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, certificates, etc.
  • Assess risks, underwrite and process at a level of moderate risk for policy changes and renewals
  • Operate department phone queue
  • Record underwriting info for the purpose of evaluation, assessment, audit & profitability
  • Identify opportunities to support Unica‚Äôs strategy and analyze and report identified trends to management
  • Other duties as required
  • Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Attributes :

  • A detail-oriented and analytical thinker
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and naturally enthusiastic
  • Strong communicator in all varieties (written, verbal, and presentation skills)
  • Excellent time management skills in order to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional phone etiquette
  • Must be flexible with hours of work as required
  • Education and Experience :

  • University / College degree
  • CIP / CRM obtained or working towards one or both of these designations
