Essential ResponsibilitiesAlgorithm and advance processing design, prototyping, implementation and verification : Work to research and implement practical solutions to difficult Engineering problems.

Model, simulate and evaluate potential algorithms using Matlab, Python, HDL and C / C++Work with department stakeholders to create and implement algorithms that meet architectural and implementation constraints.

Work with department stakeholders to architect new hardware designs which will support current and future algorithm implementation.

Assess algorithms for real-world, embedded performanceProduce requirements and design documentation as requiredDevelop models and implementation code for algorithms in accordance with Departmental PracticesAssist in the development of test and verification plans as requiredSupport implementation of current generation and next generation algorithms in target hardwareWork with design Engineering to integrate and debug algorithms as requiredVerify algorithm performance in systemFollow trends in both industry and academia (GPU’s, FPGA’s, computer vision, machine learning etc)Provide input to and attend design reviews for projects associated with algorithm developmentParticipate in NPI meetings as required#LI-TM1*INDQualificationsAt least 5 years of algorithm design and implementation experienceUndergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent Science discipline.

At least 5 years of experience in the following : Reading and understanding IEEE style research papersModelling and simulation of complex algorithmsDesign and implementation of complex algorithmsMatlab / Python for algorithm developmentDigital signal and image processing techniquesComputer visionC / C++ codingCoding for parallel processingFamiliarity with Machine learning and pattern analysisFamiliarity with neural networksFamiliarity with digital hardware design and VHDLFamiliarity with target tracking systems an assetPreferred Additional SkillsMaster’s or equivalent postgraduate degree an asset.
