    The Opportunity :

    This position requires working closely with our processing plant and producers for scheduling requirements, including planning live haul for loading / catching of birds to be processed at the plant.

  • This role Includes the daily preparation of producer summaries, deposits, weekly manual deposits and generating payment reports for the Alberta Chicken Board;
  • Catching / loading and Live haul. In addition, this individual will provide support to the Live Operations department in the areas of planning, organization, analysis and implementation of various operational affairs.

    This role will provide appropriate visibility to the organization and producers through reporting of performance outcomes.

    A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do :

  • Daily preparation and determination of Producer settlement summaries, deposits, reports, and conversing with Broiler Producers.
  • Utilize the data from the live payment file to calculate shrink, condemn data history and live data history for further data analysis and quality circle information.

  • Maintain integrity of databases and provide data summaries, analysis and a variety of reports.
  • Weekly preparation of Alberta Chicken Producer Board, Live Haul, Catching / Loading Reports for Third Party Remittances and weekly preparation and submission of all manual payments to producers and other vendors.
  • Update procurement schedule from Flock Information forms submitted by producers. Using bird weights and shipment numbers, work with live haul to calculate the number of loads in accordance with CFIA recommendations.
  • Provide off-feed times to producers.

  • Enter hatchery chick orders in SAP and create Stock Reservations in SAP for Live Receiving.
  • Calculate open leases each cycle using utilization provided by Alberta Chicken Producer Board, tracking all deductions / payments of registered leases.
  • Shared responsibility with planner / scheduler).

  • Work collaboratively with other departments in addressing issues or concerns related to live operations.
  • Plan events such as producer meetings and annual Christmas party.
  • Other projects and tasks as determined by manager

  • What you will bring :

  • Post-secondary education is an asset and / or work experience in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP or an ERP environment is an asset
  • The ability to work cross-functionally.
