Job Description :
Reporting to the Director, Dealer Strategic Initiatives, the incumbent will play a key role in enabling and supporting the Dealer in meeting strategic and business objectives.
They will do this by supporting key business functions that span the breadth of the Dealer Organization to ensure consistency and alignment of priorities and support functional leaders in achieving desired business outcomes.
These functions include (i) finance and expense management, (ii) Dealer operating model, (iii) key initiative planning and tracking to objectives (iv) brighter way initiatives and (v) relationship management with partners across the matrixed Distribution and supporting organizations.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring people, systems, processes, best practices, contractual and business rules work in unison to deliver exceptional service and minimize costs for stakeholders.

Define and deliver innovative, effective, and efficient solutions to enhance the Dealer service offering, ensuring advisors and customers find it easy to do business with us
This creative, innovative, strategic thinker will lead and drive dealer projects and initiatives, ensuring that we continue to align with the Sun Life Financial Distribution strategic objective of driving sales and the dealer’s vision of being an industry leading market based distribution firm in Canada
Support the Director in ensuring leaders and business partners are aligned on understanding the strategy impacting our business, key messages / philosophies, general principles and business processes of the area while ensuring there is a consistent application with respect to the management of the area.
Act as the business lead of approved dealer initiatives (regulatory, transformational, strategic and baseline)
Accountable for the creation and executive approval of business cases for proposed Dealer Initiatives
Accountable for the definition of scope and business needs and establishing weekly status updates
Ensure defined scope meets the needs and requirements of all stakeholders (our Clients, operations units, advisors, distribution, regulators, compliance, legal, marketing, etc.)
Provide initial high level business requirements and provide input to and approve detailed business requirements, test documents, application risk assessments, and implementation plans, for system enhancements and other business projects
Participate in defining and planning change management tactics; provide sign off on change management plans in order to drive adoption of new tools, technology and processes.
Work with qualified business resources, such as Individual Marketing Communications and Wealth Business Development, to develop marketing and communication materials
Where a Project Manager, Business Analyst are not assigned, the Business Lead will act in this capacity ensuring the project / initiative is executed as expected
Partner with representatives from Sun Life Financial Distribution, wealth business areas, finance, legal, compliance, distribution channels, on a daily basis to share project updates, gain buy in on solutions and solve problems
Partner with dealer enablement, dealer operations, compliance and other areas to develop and present recommendations associated with the resolution of production issues, defects, regulatory obligations or strategic direction.
Lead investigative / analytical projects while partnering with key stakeholders within the dealer
Participate in the impact assessment and prioritization of business maintenance initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
5+ years of progressive experience in the wealth industry, in an operations, enablement or management capacity is required
Demonstrated managerial courage - ability to challenge the status quo and champion new ideas
Excellent analytical, problem resolution and consensus-building skills
Experience in process mapping as well as identification and assessment of process risks and supporting controls
Proactive and highly motivated individual who will take initiative and is able to manage unstructured activities
Occasional weekend and after-hours work required, aligned to release schedules

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
