    Meet Samantha

    Sam is a District Manager at TJX Canada. She is responsible and accountable for building the organization, driving sales, customer satisfaction and minimizing losses while overseeing the effective operation of stores.

    Works as a liaison between the stores, DC, Home Office and Regional Office; and actively supporting the Company’s values and policies to ensure effective people management and development.

    What is the secret to great leadership? Sam says it’s collaboration. She believes that a team is greater than the sum of its parts.

    She’s built a highly diverse team that ambitiously pursues their goals. And we have a funny feeling we know where they learned such behavior.

    Now, if you were to come on board as one of our District Managers, we’d ask you to do the following :

  • Drive district and store sales by ensuring operational standards (merchandise priorities and LP policies and procedures) are met.
  • Maintain cost-effective stores that achieve the given sales plan and hourly productivity plan.
  • Promote bench-strength in the stores through succession planning / training and developing Management.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Build the organization through hiring, effective retention, development and promoting bench-strength succession planning of associates and management.
  • Ensure a positive Associate Relations environment.

    But if it does sound right for you, here’s why we know you’ll be able to handle those challenges. You have :

  • Minimum University Degree or equivalent retail experience.
  • Minimum of 5 + years of multi-unit management experience required.
  • Knowledge of a multi-store environment including general HR knowledge, management skills including participating in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff;
  • coaching and counseling team members; providing advice and guidance to associate members in the resolution of problems; evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members.

  • Proficient in time management, problem solving / decision making, interpersonal skills including conflict management, continuous shifting of priorities, sense of urgency, team building / development, information gathering skills.
  • Communication skills including written (reports, instructions, etc.); verbal (staff, customers, presentations, training).
  • General computer skills.
  • Required to travel (must have valid Drivers’ License; must have reliable vehicle; willing to travel to Stores within designated region).
  • Willingness to relocate.
  • Comp - Responsible for overseeing the operations of 8- 10 stores, $50-175 million in sales.
  • Indirectly supervises approximately 400 + Store Associates.
  • Directly supervises approximately 30-40 Store Managers / Assistant Managers
