POSITION SUMMARY :
Supply Management (part of NDS) will be responsible for the delivery of ingredients to / replenishment of our mills, optimizing freight and managing inventory and shortages (not outtages).
The purpose of this role will be to ensure the ongoing availability of inbound ingredients needed for our production facilities utilizing forecasting tools, historical data, and working with & around current market variables.
While doing so the Supply Coordinator will strongly collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues (incl. Procurement, Supply Management, Formulation, Operations, Customer Services, NDS colleagues from other regions) and external parties (Ingredient Suppliers, Transport companies, External Storage suppliers).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
Forecasting ingredient needs based on historical data, pending open production orders in our ERP systems and sales forecasts to ensure ingredient outages are kept as close to zero as possible.
Generation of inbound orders in our ERP systems based off of existing contracts as set up by our Procurement colleagues, as well as generation of spot purchase orders as applicable.
Coordination of delivery schedules for all Vendor Delivered loads.
Coordination with and tendering of orders for all 3rd party carriers handling our FOB (pick up) loads.
Tracking & tracing of open orders for both FOB and Vendor Delivered items scheduled inbound into our facilities.
Adjustment of dates based on revised ETAs and shuffling of orders may be required to ensure ingredient flow is not disrupted.
Ensure carrier selection includes focus on Freight Savings as it pertains to market rates in conjunction with carrier service metrics to strive for lower ingredient costing.
Ensure the integrity of orders being generated to have the correct pricing to avoid invoice variances through our Accounts Payable.
Bin usage optimization & review
To maximize efficiencies, continued focus on bin space and ingredient allocation is needed.
Collaboration with other members of our Nutrient Delivery team (e.g. Procurement) as well as colleagues in Operations to facilitate any changes will be required.
Vacation coverage for colleagues handling similar roles.
Availability & input for team meetings and / or vendor & carrier meetings where applicable.
Occasional travel as required (mostly pertaining to the mill(s) that will be covered by this role).
Additional duties that may be assigned as needed.
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA :
University degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business Admin / Finance or Supply Chain Management preferred
2 to 3 years of related experience in logistics is preferred
