HDR is seeking a Senior Airport Analyst for our Richmond Hill office. This individual will work with a dynamic team of transportation professionals on a variety of aviation projects including airport terminal development, airport master plans, landside and airside development, passenger flow simulation and capacity-demand analysis.

The work will be centered in the Richmond Hill office; however, project delivery may be anywhere in Canada, the US or selected global locations, and focus on the planning, analysis, presentations and technical studies and reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in airport analysis, passenger flow simulation, flight schedules development, data analysis and management, capacity-demand studies
  • In-depth understanding of airport operations and planning principles, including IATA guidelines and Level-of-Service standards
  • Experience with projects involving pedestrian analysis and simulation for transit stations and other public facilities is an asset
  • Experience working with airport stakeholders, including airport authorities, airlines and governmental agencies such as CATSA, CBP, CBSA, TSA, etc
  • Job Skills

  • A self-starter, comfortable working in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in data analysis, data integration and development of complex templates for data manipulation
  • Fluency in 2 or more airport simulation software packages : Simio, MassMotion, CAST, AirTOP, ArcPort or similar
  • Working knowledge in Tableau / PowerBI or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge with general transportation software like Paramics and Vissim
  • Working knowledge of movie maker / animation software required for preparation and manipulation of 3D visualization / animations of passenger flows modelling
  • Advanced programming skills in Phyton, C++, Visual Basic or similar
  • Progressive and innovative approach to problem solving
