Kenora Jail seeks a strong leader with expert corrections knowledge to join a dedicated leadership team responsible for the overall operations of the institution.
As the Deputy Superintendent, Security and Compliance, you will be responsible for leading specialized functions within the institution, including managing the institution's correctional, security and programming requirements, and the provision of emergency response or crisis management.
You will also be responsible for direct oversight of a team of correctional managers and staff.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will :
Provide direction in the planning and coordination of the specified operations, activities and programs
Participate in the integration of programs within the security framework of the institution
Oversee and coordinate compliance with the institution's key performance indicators
Provide leadership and manage a team of correctional staff, positively influencing and participating in the establishment of a strong adaptive culture where corporate principles and values are effectively communicated, modelled, taught and shared with partners and staff
Represent the institution with various stakeholders to conduct negotiations, build coalitions and maintain working relationships
Assume responsibility for the administration of the institution during after-hours and weekends, on a rotational on-call basis
