Job Description

The Supervisor, Scheduling and Inventory supervises and supports the Scheduling and Inventory Department functions and employees.

Responsibilities include maintaining a top-level production schedule for all bulk and finished product in a manufacturing environment.

The Supervisor will liaise with Supply Planning and Purchasing to ensure that the manufacturing build schedule fulfills demand requirements and achieves stated goals for customer service levels.

Maintain systems for ensuring accurate Syspro transactions and record keeping, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Industry-leading Quality and Service, in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.

  • Supervise, direct, prioritize and coordinate all activities related to the Scheduling and Inventory department, to maintain quality and maximize productivity while minimizing cost
  • Support the team’s success by ensuring the staff are properly trained, motivated and performing to the required standard, and provide recognition and feedback as required.
  • Involve Manager when required.

  • Maintain a high level of integrity to ensure all staff are being treated on a fair and consistent basis
  • Take the initiative to implement process changes providing a positive environment to ensure continuous improvement is embraced by all staff
  • Ensure alignment of Softgel Encapsulation and Finished Goods schedules, including inter-plant schedules
  • Maintain a stable and realistic build schedule that leverages available plant capacity and minimizes volatility in an MRP environment
  • Assist operational managers to ensure cost-effective allocation of resources (materials, equipment, people, etc.)
  • Develop and utilize analytics to measure performance against valid indicators (e.g. schedule attainment and schedule adherence) and benchmarks
  • Provide support and leadership to the warehouse supervisor and team
  • Support management team on achieving annual goals and targets
  • Radiate passion for the work being done by being a role model in all areas for the employees
  • Complete performance management, scheduling, payroll, and accident investigations as required
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), while ensuring the team’s compliance as well
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Participate in department meetings as required
  • Work closely with operations and warehouse to move goods in and out of the inventory
  • Inventory control
  • Ensure cycle counts are performed accurately and on time
  • Respond to inventory enquiries from different departments through email or phone calls
  • Control and coordinate other inventory issues that arise including destruction procedures
  • Ensure discrepancies between Syspro and physical count are corrected

  • Technical

  • 3 to 5 years’ related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven accurate inventory skills (cycle count, discrepancy tracking, etc)
  • Prior experience leading a successful team
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in ERP, MRP, Syspro, MS Office, Analytics and Reporting
  • Safely and effectively operates a forklift
  • Clear understanding of C-TPAT requirements and processes
