ERM Intermediate Environmental Advisor

This initially is a casual / part-time position for a 1 year term with great potential for extension or full time employment.
During peak activity, the role is expected to be 40 hours / week.

As an Intermediate Environmental Advisor with BC Oil and Gas Commission and BC Environmental Assessment experience, you will be equipped to support our clients through project development to pipeline construction in the oil and gas mid-stream sector.
This is an opportunity to utilize your strong operational project management skills, environmental technical skills and pipeline construction knowledge to successfully advise our clients on permitting for large-scale capital projects.
You will serve as a representative of our company, and play a key role building our business in the energy sector and winning new projects.
Your big-picture understanding of our business, and ability to build strong client relationships based on trust and mutual benefit will be critical.
Your responsibilities :
Work on multiple projects and serve as reviewer to ensure deliverables achieve client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
Support environmental field auditsContribute to business development of ERM’s global impact assessment and planning service area.
Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of our project teams.Actively contribute to ERM’s impact assessment and permitting technical community and collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute projects.
Who you are :
BSc or MSc in Sciences, Environmental Engineering or related field.7-10 years of consulting experience in impact assessment and permitting, specifically in the energy sector (mid-stream experience is an asset).
Well-developed team building and influencing skills; unquestionable integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
Demonstrated experience working with the BC Oil and Gas Commission, and understanding of provincial and federal regulatory drivers within the energy sector (especially within British Columbia and Alberta)High degree of operational project management competence and ability to understand operational client requirements for project deliveryBroad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
Strong data management skills.Familiarity with pipeline construction and associated environmental permitting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to develop / maintain long-term relationships with clients.Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management approaches / tools.Ability to rise to the challenge in high pressure environments, managing diverse internal and external stakeholders, and becoming energized by a vibrant team of colleagues based across the country and the globe.
