This position reports to the Senior Manager, Account Reconciliations. The Analyst, Account Reconciliations - NPKC, within Record To Report (RTR) - Financial Business Services, is an essential partner within accounting / finance to maintain working relationships to manage in scope Account Reconciliations monthly, quarterly, annually the reconciliations performed in BlackLine (Account Reconciliation Automate Tool) and report on the related progress.

As part of this team of professionals along with managed services, you will proactively assure consistency on application of account reconciliations governance protocols and compliance with the org related Policy(s)

This position is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada or Loveland, Colorado, U.S.A. and is not available for remote work.

What you will do :

  • Maintain working relationships with stakeholders within own department and across departments within accounting / finance to action and facilitate account cleanup / reconciliation.
  • Point of contact for business users with routine questions regarding status, results, and variance analysis for the account reconciliations.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to identify processing gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure internal controls are met. Work with SOX, Internal Audit, and third-party auditors during periodic audits and requests for documentation.
  • Completion of information requests from external, internal auditors and corporate tax
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly reports and assist with organizing quarterly meetings for SOX compliance
  • Complete ad hoc reports as needed by project work
  • Care for in scope Account Reconciliations
  • Prepare and distribute KPI / Dashboard reporting for Reconciliations and Open Items
  • Prepare journal entries for reconciling variances and enter in the system
  • Coordinate and report on reconciliation progress with the period end close team
  • Gather and review data to support the preparation of account reconciliations
  • Check consistency on application of account reconciliations governance protocols and policies
  • Review the reconciliations in Blackline prepared by Managed Service in a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate and participate in the Monthly / quarterly account reconciliation review
  • Identify and provide an action plan for any balance that cannot be supported
  • Identify and submit journal entry request to write off / adjust unsupported balances that could not be resolved
  • Identify and track unreconciled amounts that are due to timing differences (e.g., uncashed cheques). This would include escalating any timing differences that exceed the time limit defined in the policy (e.
  • g., greater than 90 days)

  • Perform account balance variance analysis

  • What you will bring :

  • Bachelor’s degree required - (degree related to finance, mathematics, operations, statistics, actuarial science, agriculture, economics or other data related fields)
  • 2+ years’ experience in analytics
  • Experience in finance or finance-related role preferable (preference given to designated individuals)
  • Experience using business metrics to problem resolve data-driven questions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills
  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets and then using it to draw conclusions
  • Thorough problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work self-guided in a fast-paced environment and care for tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Aptitude to communicate complex analytic findings and conclusions in an easy-to-understand way
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Word, Power Point and PowerBI (preference will be given to those with experienced skills)
  • Compensation & Benefits :

    $53,200 $76,000. This range is estimated for the Analyst, Account Reconciliations - NPKC in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
