The work of a Legal Administrative Assistant would include preparation and disclosure of all child protection files for court within the regional office.
This includes preparing notices of applications and notices of motions, social worker and witness affidavits, documents for custody and guardianship agreements, prepare and type the summons to witness and witness list for trials and have commissioned affidavits of fact and affidavits of service and all other documents required for court purposes.
As a legal administrative assistant you will also be responsible for contacting process servers, contacting and providing witnesses with information and conducting secondary research when required.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Essential Qualifications : High school diploma or GED supplemented by successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in legal administrative assistant, secretarial, clerical or office technology and a minimum of three (3) years related clerical / administrative experience including one (1) year of directly related experience in a legal environment OR High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years related experience in a legal environment.
Language Requirements : Some opportunities require written and spoken competence in English and French. Others will require written and spoken competence in English only.

Time Limits : A casual shall not be employed in any one department for more than 260 paid days in a 24-month period.
