NetSuite Core Development is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Specialist to join the new Infrastructure team. The purpose of this group is to maintain, expand and improve current cloud and on-premise infrastructure (including build systems, developer environments and surrounding toolsets to accelerate our development teams’ productivity).

Responsibilities

As a member of this team, you would have the chance to make a significant impact on all aspects of the development and production in the NetSuite ecosystem.

Some of the responsibilities and interesting projects you will work on include: 

  • Building and support of core infrastructure components using private and public cloud technologies.
  • Follow Infrastructure as code principals and participate in the design and architecture decisions.
  • Participate in the implementation of tools and automation for build environment provisioning, configuration management, monitoring and HA.
  • Understand what Development team’s workflows are and identify improvements to make them maximally efficient.
  • Work closely with members around the world to build and support DevOps tools and services.
  • Qualifications 

    We are enthusiastic about technology and its potential to improve the product we all work on. To be successful candidate for this role you should have: 

  • ​​​​7 years or more of relevant experience as DevOps, SRE or System Administrator
  • Extensive experience with *nix shell scripting (bash, tcsh, ksh)
  • Experience with design and/or implementation of HA (highly available) solutions.
  • Experience with both on-premises and Cloud-based virtualization solutions (KVM, VmWare ESX, Openstack, AWS etc)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with CM tools like Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Chef.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation with technologies like SaltStack, Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience working with Docker and containerization orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Strong technical skills with strong design principles and experience writing quality code using multiple programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact effectively with other teams in the organization.
  • Good to have 

    Experience with the following: 

  • Experience with Pacemaker/ Corosync stack 
  • Experience with parallel filesystems (e.g. GPFS, GluserFS, Ceph, Lustre) 
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming languages.
  • Groovy scripting experience.
  • Continuous integration build setup and/or maintenance.
  • Experience mentoring junior members.
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

    As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

    Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
