The Speech-Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation or Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include : assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

Clinical Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Audiologists and Speech-language Pathologists of Ontario.

    Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.

  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients / care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Observes the performance of those assisting in the speech and language program and provides guidance as necessary.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain active standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and / or external education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore / ICS Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
  • Complete other tasks as requested
  • Education

    Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology. Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.


    Preference of three years providing Speech-Language Pathology services. Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments

    Other Skills and Abilities

    Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments. Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.

    Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner. Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team.

    Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email. Commitment to continued learning. Valid driver’s license.
