As a result of our growing business, we have an immediate opportunity in our downtown Vancouver office for an Intermediate Structural Engineering Technician / Technologist.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients.

The role of a Structural Engineering Technician / Technologist is to perform a variety of tasks and assignments involving development of structural details, 3D modelling of building structures and preparation of structural drawings.
Work performed will be under the general supervision of a Senior Structural Technician or Engineer.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinating with project managers, engineers, technologist staff and other disciplines, develop 3D structural models and 2D drawings using BIM technologies
Assist in the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary design team
Performs thorough quality control of construction documents and provides design ideas and solutions
Keep up-to-date on new products, technologies, design processes and drafting techniques
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
Thorough knowledge of structural details and industry standards, especially in steel and concrete construction
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to prepare structural drawings, including checking for accuracy, drawing standards and perform inter-disciplinary coordination
Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with an ability to work either independently or with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
Able to work under and meet tight deadlines
Able to recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Education and Experience
Structural technology diploma / certificate or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5-6 years of experience.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
