In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with facility managers to implement standardized processes and effective controls, monitor compliance with inventory management policies, ensure accurate tracking and costing of inventories, and influence actions that drive yield improvements and better decision-

Job Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management - Responsible for ensuring inventories are accurately stated, both quantity and quality. Partner with facilities to ensure compliance with inventory management policies, including physical count reconciliations and proper approvals for larger variances.
  • Participates in physical counts at each facility annually. Monitors third-party inventory compliance and reconciliations.

    Ensures bins are zeroed-out periodically to ensure integrity of inventory. Reconciles OSP and Smartsoft balances, working with plants to ensure proper cut-

    offs, improve processes and minimize variances.

  • Valuation - Responsible for the integrity of inventory costing. Partners with supply chain and plant personnel to ensure inventory movements are accurately costed.
  • Monitors costing activity to prevent and / or minimize impact of errors, implementing improvements to address root causes.

  • Packaging / Shipping Supplies - Reconciles and monitors inventory and costs of pallets, bags and other shipping supplies, ensuring effective processes exist to track inventories.
  • Inventory reporting - Responsible for weekly and monthly inventory reporting, ensuring balance sheet inventory values are accurately stated and reconciled.
  • This includes all types of balance sheet inventory (commodities, packaging supplies, etc.)

  • Yield reporting and monitoring - Prepares and / or reviews yield reports that correlate to inventory gains / losses in PNL.
  • Partners with facilities to improve yields and minimize losses, as well as aligning yields with automatic plant / commodity shrink values.

  • Process accountability - System expert on inventory and costing related transactions, including the financial entries resulting from these transactions.
  • Support of both human and food safe-work practices
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
  • 3+ years of accounting
  • Solid understanding of inventory controls, preferably in agriculture
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Proven desire to add value and drive process improvement
