The Rental / Retail Manager is accountable for the administration, supervision and operation of the Rental& Retail Outlets.

This role will be accountable for the purchase, administration, and gross profit of all rental and retail goods and services.

The Rental / Retail Manager is also responsible for people management, scheduling, guest services, merchandising and inventory management.

This is a full- time seasonal role with benefits.

Accountabilities :

Demonstrate financial growth through the development and execution of business planning, operating and capital budgets associated with the respective units.

Establish targets, administer and track all labour costs, inventory control and management including cost of sales and shrinkage within budgets and proactively communicate variances.

Meet performance targets for speed, efficiency, sales and quality through leadership and staff engagement.

Train and lead a successful and enthusiastic team of employees.

Develop store promotions, manage product markdowns and effectively merchandise the retail outlets to maximize revenue.

Guide and motivate team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.

Continually provide employees with clear feedback and a formalized performance review.

Maintain the Point of Sale system to ensure accurate reporting is achieved.

Represent Nakiska Ski Resort to suppliers, sponsors and business representatives in a professional and ethical manner.

Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.

Explain the features and benefits of all retail products and make recommendations.

Assist guests with sizing and fitting appropriate equipment for comfort and safety.

Perform all cash handling duties (opening, cash balancing, coin orders and closing).

Maintain merchandise by stocking, facing, and general tidying of area.

Ensure proactive communication with other key departments on resort (Guest Services, Rental Repair, Mountain Operations, etc.

to be able to address guest inquiries and promote other resort services and products.

Work flexible shifts, with periods of sitting, standing and computer work.

Be briefly exposed to extreme weather conditions on resort (cold, wind, snow, altitude).

You :

A minimum 3 year retail or rental experience with experience in a leadership role.

Have an engaging and outgoing personality.

Passion and enthusiasm for mountain culture, skiing / snowboarding and resort

Have an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.

Have basic knowledge of outdoor equipment, recreation, ski, or related retail shops and procedures.

Have extensive customer service experience, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people.

Are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Point of Sale (POS) applications.
