Overview

Join an innovative IntegratedLogistics Support (ILS) department within WESCAM’s Customer Service Group(CSG) that supports leading edge product technology for a diverse, globalcustomer base.

In response to requests for system solutions from aerospace anddefense customers, the System Support Project Manager oversees thedevelopment of support strategies for varied system solutions.

Working with CSGintegrated logistics support engineers, technical writers, product support andin-service account managers, the successful candidate will play a key programmanagement role and create high value customer support solutions.

Starting fromthe bid phase and through to program delivery, this person will :

  • coordinate external vendor support
  • write SOWs
  • develop cost estimates
  • plan integrated project schedules
  • execute WESCAM programs for integrated support services
  • devise long term support strategies and value-added sustainment services
  • Sales Support

  • Act as the ILS lead for all sales and bid activities that require responses for system level support services
  • Review and interpret Request For Proposal (RFP), Request For Information (RFI), or capability questionnaires for product support requirements, solicit external product vendors for support requirements, and coalesce all that data into a clear support strategy
  • Analyze RFP / RFI requirements to identify major non-compliances early during the Bid / No-Bid decision-making process, and align ILS response compliance against stated customer requirements
  • Prepare supporting White Papers, while working closely with other CSG managers, to describe the WESCAM business model for customer support
  • Program Management

  • Assume accountability for managing the ILS department’s processes and practices for designing system support solutions :
  • Attend or schedule bid meetings, as appropriate
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guide the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Establish relationships with 3rd party equipment suppliers
  • Set up statements of work (SOW) and work with the procurement department to subcontract external work or data deliveries
  • Implement integrated project schedules and actively monitor and control project execution and costs
  • Know and learn all system solution operational and maintenance requirements :
  • Review and approve all content written in maintenance task analysis, technical publications, and training lesson plans and workbooks
  • Interface with assigned systems engineers for technical validation and verification of data
  • Use and operate all system equipment in a Systems Integration Lab (SIL)
  • Configuration Data Control

  • Make sure that vendor support data is captured in our logistics’ support database (LSAR)
  • Own and control a maintenance plan for each system solution
  • Close out programs :
  • Close all project action with customers
  • Record project performance metrics
  • Track execution, analyze effectiveness and post mortem issues to develop future areas of improvement
  • Forecast future ILS workload based on anticipated bids win
  • Transition to a long term support and lifecycle management program
  • Skills & Experience

  • Passion for customer service and developing system level support services
  • Apply technical knowledge of product support / logistics disciplines and program management Best Practices to direct program activities
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; comfortable speaking with customer personnel, and management at all levels (Managers, Directors, VPs)
  • Analytical and flexible when solving problems
  • Articulate communicator with pervasive presentation skills
  • Independent work style and project management skills necessary to meet the challenges of multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong emphasis on quality of work
  • Skilled facilitator that is able to bring various external and internal personnel together in a cohesive and highly engaged team
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools with an emphasis on MS Project, Word & Excel
  • Experience in an integrated logistics and system support services environments performing Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Level of Repair Analyses (LORA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), or Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modeling preferred
  • Direct experience providing customer service in support of large industrial commercial projects, or aerospace and defense product
  • Background in reliability and maintainability planning for products or large scale equipment such as assets for mining, oil and gas, heavy manufacturing, or power generation considered
  • Experience with international deployment of equipment and capability into less developed countries
  • Proven track record preparing support programs that have resulted in a high government supplier rating scores, or that have resulted in follow-on sales
  • Knowledge of operations, maintenance services, and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects
  • Experience as a prime contractor developing complex product support solutions as a program manager, support manager, systems engineer, integrated logistic support manager or engineer, or senior technical writer
  • Experience in a managing programs with subcontracting requirements through SOWs, DIDs and CDRLs
  • DoD or Defense Contractor Product Support Manager experience
  • Strong written and spoken English language skills
  • Education Requirements

  • Member of the Society For Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) or other equivalent designation is an asset
  • Member of the Project Management Professionals (PMP) an asset
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate with equivalent level of direct project management experience in the defense industry OR Post-
  • secondary education in engineering, business
