SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under supervision and within the policies and procedures of the Royal Canadian Mint, in a teamwork type of operation, protect life, property and assets of the Royal Canadian Mint;
conduct preventive patrols; provide threat and risk analysis; control and monitor access of pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows within the Mint premises;
enforce security policy and regulations; respond to emergency situations, including fire and medical emergencies in accordance to established and recognized emergency plans and procedures;
prepare and submit reports.
MANDATORY PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be prepared to be regularly on call, at all times on a continuous on-going basis
Candidates must successfully complete Royal Canadian Mintâ€™s psychological testing.
Applicants must be able to successfully complete physically intensive HAZMAT training (including donning / wearing of SCBA) and Defensive Tactics training.
Applicants will be subject to Government of Canada (Level II "Secret" ) background checks
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain clearance status screening assessment, criminal record and credit checks.
Education and Previous Experience :
The successful candidate will possess the following :
A College diploma in Security Management or a (minimum of one year) of related security or law enforcement experience
A valid Restricted Possession & Acquisition License (RPAL)
A valid First Aid and CPR certificate
The successful candidate will possess knowledge of the following procedures :
Security and emergency procedures
Accident prevention and safety
Contingency planning and disaster planning
Threat and risk assessment
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to conduct security surveys, threat and risk assessments, and incident reports;
develop and implement security and crime prevention programs; as well as co-ordinate and conduct security and emergency awareness programs.
The successful candidate must demonstrate skills in security and crime prevention programs, investigative techniques, First Aid & CPR;
use of force and firearms safety and must be able to conduct oral and written security briefings and reports.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required
Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset
