The Director, Technology is accountable for the technical vision, designand delivery of the business capabilities supported by the future LoyaltyOnetechnology platform.
They will ensure team and stakeholder alignment aroundbusiness objectives, technical roadmap, development approach and cadence ofdelivery of the core loyalty systems and their integration.
The person in this role will grow the technical competency withintechnology team through sharing of information and experience.
They will workon representing and growing LoyaltyOne brand and work to be recognized as anexpert in the local technical community.
As the Director ofTechnology, you will be accountable for :
Development and adoption of LoyaltyOne architecturalstandards, principles and guidelines across all the Workstreams and core sharedservices to support business and technology vision and strategy
Drive the architectural transformation of thecurrent business and IT systems and applications into an efficient collectionof services built on the industry best practices
Create, evolve and operate core architecturefunctions (Architecture Reviews, Architecture CoP, Technology Steering Group)to mature the technical competency, capabilities and culture
Facilitate conversations with various businessstakeholders (WS leads, IT Directors, product management, security,infrastructure, etc.
to build and maintain our technology roadmap
Provide advanced level of expertise onarchitectural direction to WS leads, IT Directors and CLs to address emergingbusiness requirements and guide technology decision making
Development of design and engineering skills,knowledge and capabilities through hiring, training and mentoring to deliver highquality business capabilities
Design and implementation of the LoyaltyOnecore shared services (event stream, data integration platform, IDP, etc.)
Research and evaluation of new architecturalmethodologies and patterns to build and optimize our business capabilities
Minimum of 7 years of directly related work experience in a technology role that involves a strong business acumen, 5 of which should be in a Supervisory / Management role
STEM education, preferably Computer Science,Programming, Engineering or a related field
Experience in technical architecture withsignificant experience in translating business requirements into highlyscalable and distributed Cloud based solutions
Experience partnering directly with engineeringteams to deliver capabilities in a public and / or private cloud environment
Technical hands-on experience with virtualization,Cloud infrastructure architectures, systems, storage, databases, networks,monitoring
Experience with Java and other object-orientedand functional languages
Experience with scaling and optimizing systemsboth for production reliability as well as customer experience
Experience in deploying and maintainingdistributed systems in production
Experience with engineering methodologies,approaches and principles (twelve-factor app, domain driven design, CQRS, eventsourcing, SOLID design principles, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build consensus amongst many stakeholders
Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret data and results
Senior level knowledge of marketing business processes and operations
Excellent contract negotiation and vendor management skills
