The Technical Services Lead will be responsible for driving system changes, configuration, release documentation, technical initiatives, and coordinate Application releases.

The Technical Services Lead will apply a broad knowledge of organizational processes and various systems to accurately anticipate organizational impacts and work in a collaborative effort with other teams, vendors, and stakeholders to facilitate best client solutions.

The Technical Services Lead will work collaboratively with hospital stakeholders, internal and external teams to implement, optimize, support, and maintain the hospital systems, applications for the new Mackenzie Health Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and the existing Richmond Hill Hospital.

Contribute to safe, quality care by

  • Lead and coordinate with the vendors, internal teams and stakeholders for new software releases, system upgrades, patches, and outages
  • Support the implementation of the operational and strategic plans.
  • Identify and communicate operational issues and drive the resolution of issues in an effective manner which also ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Document and communicate the changes following the change control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, process, testing, downtime procedures, and communication.
  • Create and maintain run books and coordinate the testing effort that must be performed prior to moving a new software upgrade or patch into production.
  • Function as project lead utilizing standard project management methodologies including, developing workflow plans, impact analysis, implementation tasks, issuing progress reports.
  • Foster and initiates a culture of cross training and actively shares knowledge with the teams (including Service Desk) in support of organization’s skills growth and high customer service.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and may drive innovation to meet our users’ needs.
  • What must you have?

  • University degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five years of knowledge of hospital processes and healthcare system implementation experience required.
  • Proven leadership with a good track record in teamwork
  • What else do you bring?

  • Working experience with Hospital Systems and healthcare applications like EPIC is preferred.
  • Extensive experience working in an ITIL organization (Incident, Change, Problem management)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and be able to work well on cross-functional project teams and understand customer needs and encourage productive working relationships.
  • Results and achievement oriented; creative problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well within a dynamic, collaborative teamwork environment.
  • Good understanding of risk management, privacy, e-safety, and quality assurance methodologies as they relate to supporting applications.
  • Able to adopt modern information technology and systems and an enthusiastic adopter of new and novel technology solutions.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
