Ria is looking for Cashiers for our Ria Store Branches located in the Montreal Quebec area (Cashiers need in various branches).

This position will play a key role in delivering professional, courteous and personalized customer service. As Cashier, you will report directly to the Store Manager and primarily be responsible for carrying out a variety of financial transactions while expressing out company’s values.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in English and French to support our business needs. Spanish speaking would be an asset.

Job Requirements

  • Interact with customers face to face in order to receive and process all of Ria’s Financial products such as cashing cheques, money transfers, selling and buying foreign currency, etc.
  • Accurately enter or verify the customer’s information in our proprietary system
  • Courteously answer customers inquiries and questions professionally by phone or email
  • Assist customers with various inquiries such as processing transactions, questions about our products, cancellations and providing Ria Agent locations
  • Review incoming transactions in order to detect accuracy and follow up on any mistakes
  • Identify problems, issues or complaints during queries and propose solutions to management
  • Keep up-to-date with Ria’s products, services and policies
  • Balance your cash register and prepare the bank deposit.
  • Prepare the daily transaction record
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French. Spanish would be a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail customer service and cash handling
  • Possess experience with face to face customer service, fully understanding and meeting customers’ needs and cross selling various products
  • The key characteristics this individual must possess are having positive attitude, demonstrating sound judgement and being pleasant and respectful to customers and team members
  • Ability to stay focused, pay attention to detail under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible to work different schedules daily, be available to work nights (until 9pm) and weekends
  • Primarily sedentary work in a retail store environment
  • Overtime required as needed
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
