  • Our client, The Mortgage Centre in Courtice, Ontario, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager. The primary role of the BDM is to prospect for new clients by networking, or other means of generating interest from potential clients;
  • fosters existing referral partner relationships and creates long term rapport on behalf of the team; develops new referral partner relationships;
  • receives leads and injects them into the team process.

  • Ensure sound knowledge of The Mortgage Centre’s and The Henry Mortgage Team’s services and technologies
  • Identify and build long term relationships and continuously develop new contacts and business partners
  • Educate and market both existing and new business partners on products and services through various mediums and ensure business partners always have up-
  • to-date marketing packages and brochures

  • Attend industry functions, conferences and association events, and contribute to information and feedback on attended events.
  • May be outside of normal working hours

  • Solicit employers to provide in-house mortgage services to HR departments for their employees
  • Create email marketing plans to attract and build new business with the help of the marketing specialist
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and quarterly and annual business plans
  • Solicit and holds 1 on 1 business partner lunches and coffee meetings
  • Conduct high trust interviews with listing agents on purchase transactions that the team has completed
  • Receive leads and inquiries from business partners after hours and over the weekend; promotes this as a service
  • Coordinate and host lunch and learns, home buyer seminars, client experience presentations with
  • Business partners, and business partner happy hours
  • Conduct annual client reviews with arranged employers and their employees
  • Receive mortgage leads from your own sphere to be ingested into the Henry Mortgage Team process
  • Add new business partners to our database
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as requested.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to self-motivate
  • Accepts and expects regular coaching and accountability
  • Committed to professionalism with business partners in business and non-business environments
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, confidence and resilience in everyday situations
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with conflict resolution and objection handling; must be willing to practice ways to improve on this
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a high aptitude for building relationships
  • Ability to brainstorm and implement new ideas and strategies around business development; eager to work with our Marketing Specialist on new marketing strategies
  • Comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role
  • Have the desire to constantly learn, grow, and adapt to change
  • Travel out of the province or country may be required to attend conferences
  • Detail orientated and organized
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • 2 years’ mortgage experience
  • Must have Mortgage Agent license
  • Experience in a sales and leadership type role
  • Must be comfortable with computers and able to easily learn new programs
  • Proficient computer skills including the internet, database programs and Microsoft Office Suite : Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ACT and Filogix is considered an asset
  • This position requires full-time hours and includes a bi-weekly salary plus commission.
