Under the authority of the plant manager, we are looking for a candidate to fill a position of Head of Technical Services at our plant in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu.

We are looking for an agent of change who can exercise leadership in an ever-changing company, while being committed to contributing to technical improvement in order to achieve the objectives of the department relative to health and safety, quality, and productivity.

The head of Technical Services will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical and industrial operational aspects, in addition to assisting the engineering team during plant projects.

More specifically, he will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and improving preventive and corrective maintenance with the members of his team for the maintenance and tooling sector.

We are looking for a candidate with communication skills to motivate and empower his team and employees

Your responsibilities

  • Promote, influence and ensure the health and safety of employees;
  • Ensure effective communication to his team (daily / weekly / monthly).
  • Provide the support required to respond efficiently to daily health and safety demands.
  • Support manufacturing operations on a daily basis (problem solving, technical coaching).
  • Participate in the management of continuous improvement projects.
  • Assume responsibility for the budget of the maintenance sector.
  • Participate in the plant executive committee
  • Leadership and ability to influence the team and the executive committee
  • Ability to create and maintain partnerships with internal and external collaborators
  • Autonomous, highly organized, able to manage several priorities and projects
  • Thoroughness in all stages of the management and performance of his sector
  • Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical and automation engineering or operations management
  • 10 to 15 years of experience as manager of a maintenance department and in project management
  • Knowledge of MP2 maintenance management system (an asset)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and repair of dies and cutting tools (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the MP2 maintenance management system (an asset)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, SMED and Six Sigma principles
  • Proficiency in main computer-assisted management systems
  • Bilingualism (English, French)
