Here is What You Will Do

We are currently looking for a Full-Time Medgas Field Service Technician based in Langley, BC area. The Service Technician, MGS is responsible to calibrate, validate and verify proper functioning of equipment providing medical gases to patients.

The technician will clean, repair and maintain the medical equipment and record the test results on a report. The work is done in hospitals in mechanical (boiler) rooms and also in rooms occupied with patients.

Work schedule is Monday-Friday (40 hrs / week) but for certain departments, the work must be performed during the evening or weekend.

The type of equipment to be maintained or repair include :

Bulk gas storage systems (oxygen & nitrogen)

High pressure medical gas cylinders

Medical air systems (compressors)

Medical vacuum systems (pumps)

Medical gas piping, valves and outlets

Cryogenic equipment

  • Ensures the proper operation of the medical gas distribution network by inspecting, testing and repairing various equipments.
  • Records results and completes maintenance reports.

  • Repairs and adjusts system components or removes and replaces defective parts according to manufacturer's standards
  • Supports sales team by sharing opportunities, providing additional services when on site, and providing technical expertise to customers and sales team.
  • Here is What You Will Need

  • Previous 2 to 3 years’ service and maintenance related experience
  • Good skills in fields of mechanical, hydraulic, electronic or pressure vessels.
  • Experience in repair, maintenance, calibration, adjustment and installation of electrical, pneumatic and electronic health care equipment would be an asset
  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel 40% of the time within BC
  • Available to be on call 24 / 7 (rotary program between all members of the team)
  • Ability to lift up to 27 kgs or 60 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to operate light duty equipment
  • Ability to work in variable climates and weather conditions
