Scope of Position :

Working within the RegulatoryEngineering (REN) team, will support new product development and existingproducts to provide regulatory compliance related to Product Safety, ElectromagneticCompatibility (EMC), Packaging and Environmental Compliance (e.

g. RoHS andREACH).Activities include assistingsenior REN associates in providing data to SCIEX international teams byinitiating, tracking and reporting compliance status, conducting compliance testingand reporting.

Primary Responsibilities :

Ensure adherence to compliancebased on corporate policy and international regulations.Includes liaising with other teams.

Generate data and reportsrelating to compliance for use in reporting SCIEX status to countries andregions.

Generate and update reportsfor new or existing products pertaining to product safety, electromagneticcompatibility, packaging and environmental compliance.

Assist senior team associatestesting new or existing products or assemblies for compliance.

Support the operation of the compliancelab to ensure equipment and facilities are safe, compliant with procedures andoperational.


  • Post-secondary diploma in Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering Technology programs.
  • O.A.C.E.T.T. accreditation preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a design environment.
  • Experience generating detailed engineering reports.
  • Knowledge of international regulatory standards (e.g. CSA, CEN, IEC, UL) and their application.
  • Over 3 years of experience involving product safety and / or EMI / EMC testing is an asset.
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments or medical device development is an asset.
  • Additional Skills :

    Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and Word.

    Strong communication skills.

    Leadership - ability to lead small teams on specific initiatives.

    Strong project management skills to estimate, report status, and deliver individual assigned tasks.

    Strong self-starter.

    Experience working in an ISO 9001 / 17025 / 13485 based quality management system environment.
