Are you an expert domain architect who has excelled in building and evolving road-maps for large enterprises? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Compute and Storage Domain Architect located in Winnipeg Manitoba, Toronto Ontario, or London Ontario.

Reporting to the Chief Enterprise Architect, the Compute and Storage Domain Architect establishes and maintains the strategic architecture vision and road-

map supporting the overall hosting services strategy, and ensures solutions are designed and implemented in alignment. You will be a key decision maker in the evolution of how we will meet the service requirements of Great-West Life.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop and maintain the strategic architecture vision and road-map supporting our Compute and Storage services, and related information management solutions
  • Work directly with senior executives on challenges, vision, and solutions with project goals and risks
  • Support solution architects on major project decisions, and to ensure solutions are designed and implemented in alignment with the strategic vision while balancing quality, time and cost requirements
  • Contribute to the Compute and Storage 1 and 3 Year Plans.
  • Lead enterprise wide architecture sharing / collaboration forums.
  • Contribute to the local site architecture and the global architecture.
  • Identify opportunities to enable change through leveraging advancements in technology capabilities, and understanding business goals and objectives.
  • Consults on the feasibility of, and probable technology directions for potential future initiatives.
  • Qualifications and Competencies :

  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical degree (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, developing and implementing complex systems and technical architectures for resiliency, maintainability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Implementation experience with any or all of the following : storage networking, block, object and distributed file disk repositories, data protection technologies, storage replication technologies, Windows, Linux, VMware, Converged and Hyperconverged infrastructure, Microsoft Active Directory, AD Federated Services and Public Cloud IaaS.
