JYSK is seeking a talented Category Planner, to join our Inventory Allocation team in Coquitlam, BC on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Category Planner, is responsible for assisting the Inventory and Allocation department with its daily operations, including buying products related to their categories.

In addition, this role will support several special projects to enhance the organization’s inventory allocation efforts, with a strong emphasis on analytics at the item level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the AGR department on a continual basis.

This role may require (infrequent) international travel (less than 5%).

The Right Candidate :

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Category Buying / ordering / forecasting capacity
  • Advanced Excel skills and database knowledge with the ability to create reports and analyze statistics (V-Look ups, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc.)
  • Is a self motivated individual, who is able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational, verbal / written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates excellent teamwork, team-building, and project coordination skills
  • Builds and maintains lasting relationships with key internal / external business partners.
  • Is Adaptable and able to work in an environment with conflicting and changing priorities
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • The Role

  • Running weekly store orders through our Automated Replenishment System (AGR) as per schedule Determining appropriate actions for each item (cancellation, claims, etc.
  • Identifying overstocks and alerting the appropriate Buyer for action.Working with freight forwarders over seas.Maintaining items and creating forecasts.

    Running orders through system for warehouse and store replenishment.Analyzes historical sales and ensures allocation of correct stock is sent to each store.

    Analyzes and determines sales forecast for upcoming season by store level.

  • Responsible for the updating and tracking of orders, including, but not limited to :
  • Reviewing and approving add on orders sent from the stores on a daily basis
  • Identifying inventory issues and alerting the Store Manager and Operations Manager to take corrective action
  • Managing availability within assigned product groups, ensuring on time delivery and continuous replacement of product.
  • The ordering / buying process includes, but is not limited to :
  • Supports and assists the Buyer with stock checks and flyer planning.
