Position Summary :

This purpose of this position is to manage client satisfaction and deliver profitable revenue growth for large and strategic accounts by expanding and diversifying the mix of products and services.

The client manager will develop, grow and maintain the relationship between Fortune 500 clients and Mercer, with a primary focus on client retention, sales and revenue growth.

The CM role will include growing existing accounts, and the pursuit of new logos / prospects.

Responsibilities : Client relationship management

Client relationship management

  • Leads discussions of HR and business issues that lead to insights and actions
  • Develops and executes an effective account strategy for complex accounts, partnering with the client team
  • Establishes relationships with client contacts at all levels with an emphasis on the C-suite
  • Facilitates and influences client decision-making
  • Serves as a trusted advisor in addressing complex HR issues
  • Leads complex, cross-LOB, cross-geography client teams
  • Drives process for team information sharing and coordination
  • Implements improvements based on feedback from clients to ensure client satisfaction
  • Manages effective commercial relationship with client and team
  • Sales

  • Engage in broad business discussions at the C- suite level to understand client business objectives and share market trends, best practices and potential solutions
  • Create and execute on account strategy that effectively aligns Mercer resources with client needs
  • Leverage sales campaigns and Mercer colleagues to create demand for all Mercer line of business by connecting Mercer products, services and solutions to client needs
  • Work with market business leaders and others, to develop and deliver on sales plans for target clients / prospects
  • Play a major role (using Blue Sheets) in the close of complex sales that contribute to profitable revenue growth
  • Project and risk management

  • Partners with the LOBs to lead and manage complex projects
  • Manages issues proactively and mitigates risks on large, complex projects
  • Complies with Mercer policies and procedures and works closely with client team on compliance
  • Building the brand

  • Represents Mercer in local Mercer, industry and client events
  • Represents and promotes Mercer in community and professional organizations
  • Education :

  • BA / BS degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 10-15 years experience in a consulting environment identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions for clients’ complex human resources challenges.
  • Knowledge and skills (general and technical) :

  • Proven experience in managing, designing and executing all elements of sales and relationship management operations department, program development, sales analysis;
  • translating findings and initiatives into business actions that drive incremental sales and profitability.

  • Advanced analytical abilities and strong business acumen.
  • Deep understanding of retirement, investments, compensation, human capital management, communication, health and benefits, outsourcing, and HR technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to retain and grow revenue through large and complex sales.
  • Proven ability to build senior executive relationships.
  • Excellent communication, organization and project management abilities.
