Working within our Crossfield Projects team the primary function of the Zoom Boom / Crane Operator will be to assist in moving and lifting pipe spools, trailers, and other miscellaneous material around the yard.
In addition, the operator will also be required to unload materials from trailers as well as perform various labour duties on the ground as needed.
Assist in aligning pipes and performing related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction
Operate a 10,000lb zoom boom moving and lifting pipe spools, loading trailers, and transporting other miscellaneous material throughout the yard
Operate light equipment such as bobcats and skidsteers
Inspect loaded truck for accuracy of order, compliance with weight
Assist other tradesmen with the completion of their duties when required
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
Other various responsibilities may be required
Operate 30 ton crane
Must be local to the Calgary or surrounding area - will position will be based in Crossfield
Valid Journeyman or Apprentice Crane Operator certificate as well as a Zoom Boom ticket (required)
High School Diploma or GED
Experienced operator in heavy oil and gas industrial projects
H2S Alive and Standard First Aid
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret acorn drawings
Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labour requirements and how they apply to industrial construction projects
Comfortable working outdoors
