ServiceOntario customer Care representative

Located inside the Canadian Tire Store at Lake Shore & Leslie, we are committed to providing our customers with fast, friendly and easy access to Ontario government services, relating to their Health Card, Driver Licence, Vehicle and Ontario Photo card.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide quality in-person, front counter customer services by providing timely and accurate information related to government programs, products and services in a retail and customer service oriented environment
  • Provide interpretation of guidelines, directives and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to customers in completing documents and forms
  • Process business and individual customer transactions, determining that eligibility requirements are met and obtaining required documents
  • Collect and process payments, issuing refunds, and reconcile payments with transactions
  • Maintain files and electronic database systems
  • Produce a variety of reports and correspondence
  • Follow government of Ontario, store and department policies
  • Participate in meetings and all training, as required
  • Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately
  • Major Requirements and Competencies

  • Bilingual abilities would be a plus
  • You have experience providing in-person, front counter customer service responding to inquiries, providing advice and information, and resolving customer issues efficiently, in a high-volume environment
  • You are a clear, concise oral communicator with the ability to analyze situations and determine appropriate course of action
  • You have flexibility and collaboration skills to effectively work and interact in a team-driven environment
  • You have the ability to multi-task and organize / prioritize workloads efficiently
  • You possess the ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes
  • You have experience handling cash and point of sale machines to process monetary transactions and can accurately calculate fees, collect money, and balance floats
  • You have experience using computers (i.e. Internet, databases, and electronic manuals) to research, retrieve and summarize information with appropriate keyboarding skills for data entry
