What you will do :
The EHS Coordinator serves as a key contributor to the Ontario businessat JCI with responsibility for our provincial environment, health and safety guidelines,policies, standards, compliance, and other EHS initiatives.
The position willhave functional responsibility for JCI in Ontario and working closely withcolleagues in other provinces to provide overall support to the Canadianbusiness, reporting directly to the Senior EHS Manager, Canada.
Successful applicants will have a provenability to educate, motivate and train line supervision and field personnel in safework procedures, risk assessments, personal protection and have experienceperforming field audits as well as document management including the IHSA’sCertificate of Recognition.ha

The EHS Coordinator responsibilities include :
Supporting Ontario COR implementation
Participating and leading site audits
Project site inspection
Tool box talks
Managing and reporting EHS metrics
Responsible for ensuring EHS culture engagement efforts are supported, implemented and aligned with the business strategies across the region.
Develop new programs to motivate the entire workforce to participate and engage in the EHS processes.
Implement standards for protection of the public and the environment in the communities where the company operates. Work to foster an atmosphere of openness and information sharing in order to encourage a culture of high awareness, transparency and due diligence with respect to safety and health matters amongst the Ontario team and the broader business.
Work with Provincial regulatory officials to resolve any compliance or practice violations
In conjunction with the fleet organization, support the driver safety efforts for the region.
What we look for :
Strong background in EHS with a proven record of results, having at least 3 years of EHS experience in a relevant industry
Actively drives performance and urgently strives to solve problems and follow projects through to completion.
Coordinate planning and collaborate with other business units in a way that is mutually beneficial
Excellent ability to analyze and independently solve a variety of difficult situations and problems using timely decision making

Skilled in the use of a variety of PC software including Microsoft Excel
Required Minimum Education :
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is required
COR Internal Auditor certification training
Level 1 & 2 Certified Member training
Strong knowledge of applicable OH&S, WSIA, MOE and TDG regulatory requirements
Required Experience :
At least 3 years of EHS experience in a relevant industry or a combination of education and experience.
Certifications and / or Technical Requirements :
Working towards Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or recognized certifications in the safety, risk management field is highly desirable.
