WHAT’S THE JOB?

Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

The Senior Designer will be responsible for the development and preparation of design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, producting detailed shop drawings, bill of material, writing technical reports, and ensuring that design drawings are coordinated and conform to client and company specifications.

The position includes liaison with sales and project management teams and external design consultants, end users and clients.

Your work will include :

  • Work within the project team efectively to ensure all design scope and end user requirements are captured and reflected in the design shop drawings.
  • Monitor and control design progress and ensure reuirement are met and vcompleted according to established timelines within the design team and external consultants.
  • Develop and prepare conventional computer-assisted designs and specifications
  • Develop and create detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance and input on new proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare proposal specifications and presentation documents in accordance with client and / or project requirements.
  • Review and understand contract summaries of work with the ability to offer input into the creation of actionable design schedules.
  • Create and check design information with consideration for accuracy, completeness and adherence to client specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations / standards.
  • Collaborate with Architectural and Engineering partners to complete designs and resolve challenges.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and field personnel.
  • Work with NRB Purchasing and vendors to source, review and specify material and equipment.

    Qualifications

    WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Post secondary education from an accredited post-secondary institution, specializing in Architecture or Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience with building design relating to commercial / industrial / hospitality / residential sectors.
  • Experience with modular / factory-built construction is an asset.
  • Ability to read and create building specifications and detailed construction drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Revit / AutoCAD software experience is required..
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
