Wecurrently have an opportunity for a Director of IT Operations in ourSaint John, NB office. As part of the JDI ITLeadership team, the successful candidate will ensure our IT core systems andinfrastructure platforms for JDI are stable, secure and optimized.
The Directorof IT Operations will lead a group of senior leaders that support the JDI groupof companies as the customer and implement, monitor and maintain technologyincluding;
applications, systems, and network infrastructure. In addition to ourinternal team, they will also be accountable for managing our outsourcedpartners across onshore and offshore teams, as well as collaborating withvarious internal Enterprise IT teams.
This position willreport to the VP, Information Technology and be a member of the IT SeniorLeadership team where they will be a key contributor to the overall strategyand culture of the organization.
EducationRequired : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, BusinessAdministration, Information Systems or other related field
Yearsof experience required : 10-15 years IT leadership experience in Infrastructureand IT Service Delivery
Demonstrated experiencein strategic planning, organization design and development with preferredexperience in leading transformational initiatives
Demonstratedexperience in managing technical staff and optimizing delivery througheffective leadership
Excellentleadership and communication skills with the ability to handle multiplepriorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to instill confidence in the business and demonstrate the business value of IT
Experience in a continuous improvement environment (ITIL, Lean, Six Sigma)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce
Work as a part of thesenior IT Leadership Team to deliver best-in-class network services and supportto enable J.D. Irving Ltd.
Overall leadership related to systems, services,network, end user experience, collaboration, network, facilities, service deskand application development center
Drive organizational change and build infrastructurecapabilities that effectively optimize operational efficiency and deliverinnovative and agile solutions
Develop and control the annual operating and capital budgetsfor the IT Operations department
Establish and execute technology standards androadmaps
Oversee operational and service management processes toensure quality, security and efficiency are achieved.
Delivery of all internal technology projects
Performance Management, including identification and development of senior IT leaders
Develop and mentorstaff, build skills and capabilities, and manage resource demand
Manage the deployment,monitoring, maintenance, development, life cycle, and upgradeof infrastructure
Collaborate witharchitecture and risk management teams to reduce risk, and ensure informationsecurity policies, guidelines and standards are met
Foster a corporate culture that promotes integrityand the values throughout the organization
