We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance Team.
The Senior Finance Analyst provides efficient and effective general accounting services in the areas of Corporate Accounting, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, fixed assets, expenses and invoices, contribution reconciliation, benefits payments, HST and trust tax calculation, booking and posting GL, financial reporting preparation, and other day to day accounting, which meet the internal control, management information, external audit and service needs of the organization.
The Senior Finance Analyst, from time to time, will be tasked with reviewing works, supervising and coaching the analysts and co-op students.
Adhoc projects include assisting the Manager Finance for ERP implementation, and other projects based on the continued growth of the business operation within the internal team and stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes :
A solid knowledge of accounting procedures and applications
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dynamics GP General Ledger system with adaptability to learn new applications
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and business relationship skills
Flexibility, adaptability and initiative
Self-motivated, results driven and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines when required
Your College Diploma or University Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, along with the completion of a professional accounting designation (Canadian CPA or equivalent), and 4 -6 of progressive experience in the accounting / financial field, pension plan or financial services, and supervisory role is required.
Once here you will :
Prepare or / and provide review of contribution collection and reporting processes for CAAT Pension Plan and RCA
Oversee the final preparation of the annual reconciliation of contributions process
Reconcile and / or review benefit payments (pensions and terminations and reciprocal transfers) for CAAT Pension Plan and RCA as paid by the custodian and prepare monthly and annual summaries and associated journal entries
Reconcile and / or review CAAT retail and custodian bank accounts
Review journal entries, accounting schedules and reconciliations prepared by other analysts as required
Perform and / or review the Accounts Payable batch
Prepare tax filings for the CAAT Pension Plan
Prepare or / and review General Ledger journal entries associated with CAAT operating activities
Prepare or / and review schedules and reports required for quarterly and annual financial statement presentations
Review the Fixed Asset purchases by ensuring that new purchases are properly recorded and classified, and depreciation amounts are correctly calculated
Perform year-end close of the Fixed Assets sub-ledger, record asset disposals and prepare periodic reports for budget variance reports and year-end working papers
Prepare CAAT supporting working papers for the annual audit
Prepare documentation relating to accounting policies, procedures and controls for Contributions and Benefits and recommend changes when required
Assist the Manager, Finance with preparation and review of accounting schedules, general ledger journal entries, and reconciliation reports to support quarterly closing process and participate in special assignments when required
Provide support to other team members as necessary
Other adhoc projects as required
