Summary :

Our Mississauga location is hiring for an Inside Business Development Representative . In this role one is expected to promote AGAT Laboratories’ entire portfolio of services with emphasis on Environmental Services including Air Quality, Asbestos, Ecotoxicology and High Resolution laboratory services.

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the sales function in an efficient and effective manner as well as support the sales team with administrative tasks.

Additionally this opportunity is an integral part of providing Service Beyond Analysis , which includes total customer service management of a defined client portfolio, generating incremental sales to existing customers while increasing our overall customer count and revenue.

The selected candidate will be involved in supporting the creation and execution of business plans that meet and exceed budget expectations.

Responsibilities :

  • Communicate by phone, email, and in person (when required) with existing AGAT Laboratories clients to maintain existing business and explore new sales opportunities.
  • Engage in independent sales prospecting activities (including reporting); seek out, prioritize and pursue all sales opportunities through appropriate distributor channels.
  • Manage business relationships with assigned accounts and generate new business in alignment with our objectives and values.
  • Develop and maintain professional sales relationships.
  • Accept ownership and accountability for sales growth.
  • Provide weekly call reports, monthly sales forecasts, applicable target lists, monthly operating reports, and any other reports as designated.
  • Maintain CRM in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with marketing requirements as needed (such as event coordination, resource gathering, social media etc.)
  • Attend sales meetings, conventions, tradeshows, training as directed.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with support function groups, including labs and customer service teams.
  • Ensure client communication expectations are met.
  • Responsible for implementing and enforcing company pricing strategy.
  • Prioritizing work including communications to meet client expectations and timeframes.
  • Check pricing going to clients for accuracy and consistency with policy.
  • Responsible for creation of a variety of reports when requested, such as Quarterly reports, TAT reports etc.
  • Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate :

  • Post-secondary education in science, such as chemistry, geology, or engineering or in business is preferred.
  • Professional, positive and outgoing demeanor with excellent relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Flexible and capable in the face of constantly changing environment.
  • Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail along with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Unquestionable work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Interest in learning and developing knowledge of sales cycle.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Candidate will be required to supply and utilize personal reliable vehicle for business use (mileage paid.)
