This role will actively conduct corporate and operator training programs at all levels to support the operational demands of the organization.

The successful candidate will develop training content and utilize existing electronic systems to facilitate training requirements.

The training role is one that requires a very hands-on approach, leading individuals to understand their role and provide the knowledge and guidance to enable all team members to perform at a high-level.

In addition to leading all training initiatives, this role will be active with various recruitment responsibilities.

This role will support training requirements for all operating areas, collaborating with and providing analysis through various forms of reporting to each department leader, as assigned.

  • GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    In possession of an active AZ License with 3+ years of on-road driving experience would be an asset for this role

    Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role would be considered an asset

    Training Certification(s) and / or Designations would be considered an asset for this role

  • Superior computer abilities, with the ability to adapt to new software and make recommendations on software implementation
  • Experience working with TMS software would be considered an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a member of a team
  • Comfortable in group settings of various size with proven presentation ability would be considered a requirement for this role
  • Ability to be precise and accurate
  • Proven ability to be self-driven, capable of adapting to change and simultaneously managing multiple tasks / projects / assignments
  • Ability to continuously evaluate priorities to lead task / projects to completion

  • FUNCTIONS OF ROLE

  • Facilitate training programs for all staff, including both AZ tractor-trailer drivers and administrative employees
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of training, including program scheduling
  • Monitor operational methods to ensure that training is a top priority and make recommendations on improvements and / or training needs to management
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of training programs and practices
  • Present course material through the use of audiovisual aids, classroom lectures, on-the-job training and printed hand-outs
  • Communicate with applicants through phone, email and applicant tracking system
  • Assess applicants for position suitability and, as instructed, commence screening and interview process
  • Through training and orientation, test individuals to assess progress and program completion oral interviews, written examinations, and performance tests are used to ascertain comprehension of subject matter
  • Develop testing and assessment protocol to be used through training and orientation
  • Test individuals to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
  • Prepare reports, as requested, formalizing assessments of individual position suitability report on progress under guidance of training periods
  • Conduct recurrent on-the-job training and / or classroom instruction, as necessary, to acquaint workers with procedure and / or use of equipment update training as required
  • Assist in the organization, collection and development of training manuals, reference library (intranet), testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and any other required educational materials adapt to changes as required or requested
  • Develop and administer all legislated corporate training requirements research changes to legislation that impact training material and update accordingly
  • Complete various administrative requirements, as required, for the purpose of organizing material information
  • Create efficiencies and streamline process focused on user ease and prevention of process error
  • Track and report on any savings / cost avoidance generated
  • Foster teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers, supervisors and management personnel
  • Adhere to all service standards and policies, including Health & Safety
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
