The MCC Thrift Shop movement was started over 40 years ago in Altona, Manitoba. MCCS Thrift Shops seek to be a friendly, caring presence in their community, showing value and respect to all.
Practicing and promoting faithful stewardship, care for God’s creation and raising funds for MCC are key components to the mission statement of the Thrift Shops.
Most of the MCCS Thrift Shops are run by a board of directors made up of people from the community’s Mennonite churches, and in some situations, other community churches are represented.
Other Shops are run with a Management Committee structure.
This position is a sales clerk position with components of pricing products, stocking shelves, cleaning, fostering awareness of MCC, and being a peaceful presence in the community.
This job is great for a student who is looking to work part-time during their studies over the late spring / summer.
This position is flexible hours; the ability to work a variety of hours, including Saturdays is key. The Summer Sales Clerk is accountable to the Management staff and ultimately the Thrift Shop Board.
This is an hourly, part-time (8 - 20 hours / week), term position ending August 31, 2018. Daily work hours and schedule will be determined with the Manager.
