Job Description

Mainenance Millwright is responsible for performing the preventative maintenance activities, completing various repair and maintenance projects within the Plants and will work on large projects with technicians and contractors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Millwright will work closely with the Maintenance Manager in developing and maintaining maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Perform the required maintenance on all stationary equipment, mobile plant equipment and building components of the Plant.
  • Maintain all of the necessary records to support PM Program.
  • Carry out regular inventory control procedures and advise Maintenance Manager when parts need to be ordered.
  • Maintain, overhaul and repair all equipment in the Plant ie : balers, conveyors, sort line, and all other related equipment.
  • Modify and fabricate equipment to fit new production requirements or solve production and / or safety issues.
  • Assist contractors with repairs or overhauls with new equipment installations as required.
  • Work with blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, fabricating and welding as required.
  • Operate mobile equipment as required
  • Complete daily housekeeping assignments.
  • Constantly monitor plant equipment to pin point problems before they arise
  • Fill out daily maintenance log sheets
  • Attend all Department meetings and health and Safety training.
  • Some weekends and night shift work will be required.
  • Skills :

  • Good knowledge of electrical and hydraulic components.
  • Must be able to work well in an unsupervised environment and as part of a project team.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability with emphasis on safety and reliability.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform machining would be an asset.
  • Must be aware of all safety standards and requirements for maintenance work.
  • Experience :

  • 3 - 5 years in a manufacturing or related industry.
  • Previous experience with equipment used in the recycling industry and with related mobile equipment would be an asset.
