Job Purpose :

The candidate will develop and implement automation testing strategy, framework and tool sets. He / She will provide overall governance of automation practices and support the Sr.

Manager in monitoring best practices for overall testing effectiveness. Lastly, the candidate will champion continuous improvement to further help teams realize their potential that aligns to agile principles and practices.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Act as liaison to vendors and partners in the testing community and outsideRemain current with rapidly changing technological trends and provide recommendations to the future technological directions and architecture of the DivisionsLead the automation strategy within IB IT and communicate same to all levels of ManagementInvestigate technically complex software problems and coordinates problem resolution with software vendors, hardware manufacturers and / or appropriate in-
  • house personnelDevelop design specifications and provide consultative guidance to software project teamsEvaluate performance of software system and recommend changes to increase operational effectivenessDemonstrated ability to think out of the box and lead highly complex or specialized projects making significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.

    Provide leadership to technical / business projectsAct as a role model and change agent to support organization through successful changeUnderstand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-

    to-day activities and decisions

  • Relevant Technical SkillsGood understanding of software technologies and of the various Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Scrum).
  • The incumbent must have specialized mastery of all aspects of technology within a client / server environment : System analysis and design Multiple computing platforms Programming languages, methodologies and database technology Object Oriented programming (C++, other proprietary languages) Message based technologies Hardware and operating system configuration, application performance and tuning DBA experience is critical

  • Undertake project leadership duties to technically complex applications by developing work plans, scheduling resources, monitoring progress against plan, ensuring development is conducted according to standards, providing leadership to staff and reviewing work delivered.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the Division’s business strategies, business policies & risk management
  • Conduct research of vendors with IT related products / services and document / analyze findings so as to present finding / recommendations to Senior Management team
  • Focus on cost effective solutions as dictated by internal initiatives, external projects or external department requests
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and procedures within and across departments
  • Develop materials to effectively communicate regarding tool enhancements, changes or key issues (eg : training materials or presentations)
  • Excellent customer service skills are required in the communication, negotiation and problem solving with Business Partners, Vendors, Service Providers and other Bank staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to influence management and teams
  • Possesses the ability to liaise within groups / teams and across the organization, working consultatively and influencing change
  • The incumbent must have excellent analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills in order to quickly and effectively resolve problems in an evolving environment.

    The incumbent must have detailed knowledge of all applications / tools supported by the department in order to provide user support.

  • Ensure the department’s objectives are met by assisting in recruiting qualified staff, providing input as asked to performance appraisals and maintaining up to date knowledge of technology, industry and business practices
  • The incumbent is expected to function independently to identify opportunities for automation or efficiency, to introduce new technologies and to insure that the department’s objectives are met.
  • Must be able to perform cross functional duties in order to meet business deliverables.
  • Comprehensive experience of JIRA, Confluence, HP ALM, modern automation disciplines / tools
  • Education / Expereince :

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering related discipline is desirable; along with 8-10 years of progressive IT experience with emphasis on high complexity, multi-
  • language programming and multiple platforms
