This is a salaried Position

We currently have an opening for a Senior Finance Analyst in our Guelph, Ontario plant. The qualified candidate will perform multiple tasks under flexible conditions in an office environment with 25% of their time spent engaged on the factory floor.

The ability to work in cross-functional teams to perform daily problem-solving initiatives is paramount.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Monitor P&L statement for accurate account and cost center postings on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for Managing Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable Processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls
  • Maintain factory Master Data / Costing within SAP and ensure accurate product costing
  • Budgeting, tracking, analyzing, and forecasting variable costs labor, energy, and operating supplies
  • Monitor and analyze Process Order Variances (direct material variances)
  • Analyze monthly financial results to ensure accuracy and explain drivers for variances
  • Assist with monthly preparation of financial reporting package, monthly KPI reporting
  • Work with Controller to prepare monthly forecast
  • Complete work order settlement and track maintenance spending for all departments
  • Completing production order variance calculation, settlement, and closing
  • Participating in and leading multiple problem-solving initiatives to reduce factory losses
  • Serve as Finance liaison to the Managers of Operations, Focused Improvement, and TPM
  • Interfacing with Operations on a regular basis through daily and weekly operating reviews
  • Support Inventory Team on analysis of adjustments
  • Assist in management of factory fixed assets
  • Assist with yearly budget process
  • Work on projects as assigned by the Controller
  • Work with other NWNA factories to build best practices
  • Periodic travelling may be necessary (2-3 times per year)
  • Qualifications :

  • University business / accounting degree
  • CPA designation or currently in final stages of completion
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience with Finance and Cost Accounting
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Exposure to Supply Chain operations, specifically manufacturing preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required; including pivot table and macros skills
  • Strong attention to detail with keen instinct for the larger picture
  • Detail oriented, results focused, self-motivated Team player, accountable and dedicated to continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize duties with a sense of urgency
  • Effectively handles pressures and demands of multiple customers and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge current status and shows how things can be improved
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Six Sigma belt certification or TPM experience is a plus
