DescriptionReporting to the Manager, Intellectual Property Technology Services, the Process Analyst will participate in major projects and campaigns, and provide technical analysis, patent assessments and evidence mining, documentation and portfolio development.
You will provide technical and IP support to clients and be responsible for addressing customer inquiries and concerns. Your experience in the semiconductor industry, along with your excellent interpersonal skills, will be important assets in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical review of patents, evaluate patent portfolios and perform patent mapping exercises
Uses internal and external lab services appropriately to establish conclusive support of client objectives in device structural analysis with minimal supervision
Work closely with internal teams to analyze reverse engineering results to determine relevance to patents or client specific technical problems
Work closely with our client-facing sales and consulting teams to gather technical requirements from clients to build comprehensive proposals and quotations for IP solutions
Make recommendations and develop comprehensive engineering solutions based on technical analysis, reverse engineering capabilities and knowledge of intellectual property and our service offerings
Deliver findings in comprehensive reports and present and discuss results and recommendations with clients
Assist and support clients in patent litigation and licensing negotiations
Ensure and maintain confidentiality policies appropriate to the client
5+ years relevant industry experience or equivalent academic experience in one or more of the following :
Understanding fundamental processes used to fabricate a range of electronic devices including CMOS, CIS, MEMS, III-V, BCDMOS, LCD, Packaging, NVM, DRAM, PV
Analytical tooling including SEM, TEM, EDS, EELS, SIMS, FTIR, Raman, SRP
Experimental techniques, lab experience in sample preparation; understanding limitations and advantages
Advanced knowledge of semiconductor devices
Strong analytical skills combined with ability to handle multiple sources of information
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Assets include experience in intellectual property services, such as :
Due diligence and patent validity studies for patent acquisition and licensing
Technology assessment, patent landscaping and white space identification
IP watch / tracking and competitor portfolio profiling
Conducting Freedom to Operate searches
