Job Description

The candidate will join the Microchip Data Center Solutions (DCS) business unit’s Product Planning & Strategic team with specific responsibility to drive new product concepts and strategic initiatives through feasibility.

This highly impactful role will require close collaboration with Microchip’s most strategic customers, thoughtful analysis of impactful market data, and preparation of material required to seek executive approvals to move programs forward, or not, based on that data.

Success metrics are defined by expanding into new strategic markets, increasing Microchip’s market share in established markets and maximizing ROI.

As a senior product marketing manager, you will work closely with internal cross-functional teams, Microchip sales, and our strategic customers.

The candidate must have well-developed written and oral communication skills that are tunable to the wide range of internal and external audiences of this role.

Experience in data center, storage, computing, and semiconductor markets is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Identify opportunities for investment through a broad understanding of business and technical trends in the data center market, with specific emphasis on storage, compute, and memory trends.
  • This expertise would be obtained through independent research, interactions with our customers, monitoring competition, and via key industry events.

  • Continually seek to identify unexplored opportunities or new threats and develop product concepts or strategies to address through close collaboration with Microchip’s technical architecture teams
  • Generate business cases, customer pricing, and market metrics that drive decision making with respect to business and product strategy
  • Drive product planning for identified promising next generation products through collaboration with internal technical teams, customers, and ecosystem partners
  • Translate product value propositions into sales enablement collateral such as product presentations, whitepapers and more
  • Be the advocate for the Data Center Solutions business unit product and business strategy
  • Job Requirements

  • BA / BS in business, engineering or computer science
  • MBA is a plus
  • 8+ years experience in product marketing in relevant industry / technology
