Provides leadership and guidance to Regional Director and District Leaders for the implementation and coordination of associate relations, legislative requirements,and performance management across the region.
Supports and manages the succession planning, staffing, and HIPO individual development plan process. Works with the Regional Director and District Leadership teams to implement HR talent, leadership and development programs.
Provides investigative support and guidance on associate relations issues within specified Region(s). Participates in Canadian Home Office, Phoenix Home Office, and Canadian Field Human Resource initiatives as required.

Adeptly provides support in a changing business environment and acts as change agent to drive business and HR process improvements.
Adjusts priorities to meet goals and commitments, ensures continued alignment across multiple regions, and responds effectively to changing demands.
Provides effective communication on all key Field and company HR initiatives to ensure consistent understanding of the reasons for, direction of, and expected results of each.
Acts as a focal point for progress reporting on all regional HR initiatives and provides timely updates to field leaders.
Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities. Collaborates with field HR, Canada Home Office, and Phoenix Home Office to align with One HR .
May be responsible for several projects simultaneously and must be comfortable presenting to higher level management including VP / SVP level.
Serves as primary consultant and HR partner to the Regional Director.
Investigates and partners with District Managers on select associate relations issues and works with the field leadership for resolution and future prevention per the investigation guidelines
Partners and coaches the District Managers to resolve non-compliance associate relations issues using the Investigation Guidelines.
Effectively partners with Phoenix Home Office, Legal, Operations and Field partners where applicable.
Conducts HR store visits and climate surveys to verify compliance to PetSmart HR standards, People Pulse results, Employment and Safety standards as needed.
Provides trend analysis and pro-active solutions that support a Positive Work Environment.
Consults with Regional Director, District Manager, and store leaders regarding terminations in accordance with company policy and termination guidelines.
Partners and works closely with Regional Recruiter and AR Shared services support to insure that all investigations and staffing needs are met per PetSmart standards.
Provides daily support, guidance and consultation to the Regional Director as well as store leadership teams on a variety of HR related issues.
Actively promotes the Company’s Positive Work Environment and Open Door culture; participates in labor relations activities when required.
Leads all regional succession planning and IDP initiatives to ensure development of the high performing leaders in the region.
Guides District Managers on the development and status of IDPs. Tracks and maintains the IDP and High Potential (HIPO) databases.
Manages and facilitates the regional High Potential Associate development.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
5+ years of multi unit HR and management experience required.
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B.S) from four-year College or university to the nature of Human Resource Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of Federal and Provincial employment laws
