    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Reporting to the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, the Electrical Instrumentation Technician is accountable for ensuring the continued safe operation of electrical systems and equipment, by carrying out electrical repairs, calibration and maintenance for all the facilities.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate, alter or modify and make installations to the electrical power distribution systems of the building, including pneumatic control systems.
  • Calibrate production and facility instruments.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, adjust, repair, calibrate or install electrical equipment having complex interlocking or inter-
  • related circuits such as PLCs, generators, transformers, switch-gear, controllers, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems and other transmission equipment.

  • Use test instruments to diagnose problems; work from blueprints, drawings, layout or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system and equipment.
  • Compile and maintain all information and documentation relevant to maintenance and calibration programs.
  • Arrange for Contract or Third Party services as required and supervise all work performed.
  • CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

  • Ontario Industrial Electrician (442A) OR Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in installation, operation and maintenance of Medium to Low voltage systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with calibration, maintenance and installation of electronic or pneumatic instruments, analytical instruments and process measuring systems.
  • Good interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
