Junior Hydrogeologist

Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation

Mississauga / Markham, ON

The Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation group is seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist to join either our Mississauga or Markham, ON team! While the primary component of the work is fieldwork related, you will also be required to undertake data analysis and some reporting tasks.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop project management skills over time.

What you will be doing at Pinchin

Work under the mentorship and guidance of a Senior Hydrogeologist and technical experts

Complete hydrogeological field investigation programs involving drilling, test pitting, soil sampling, monitoring well installation, aquifer testing, groundwater and surface water sampling, etc.

Reporting of hydrogeological assessments for a variety of land development projects including construction dewatering, water supply, and water balance assessments

Participate in office and project duties such as data management, analysis and interpretation, and report preparation

Follow safe work practices in accordance with our Health & Safety Policy

Prepare annual monitoring reports of findings and recommendations

What you bring to the Pinchin team

Bachelor of Science Degree in Earth Sciences with a Hydrogeology option or Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Civil or Environmental option

1-2 years of experience conducting fieldwork for hydrogeological assessments (experience analyzing pump tests considered an asset)

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication skills

Valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle required (work related travel expenses will be compensated)

Availability to travel for work within the GTA region. Occasional travel within other areas of Ontario may be required

Availability to occasionally work outside of core business hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
