Learn more about us.Overall Role MandateReporting to the Manager, Finance NA, the payroll administrator to be responsible for all payroll processes.

The payroll administrator's duties include the management of employee data, collect, verify and process payroll information, determine pay and benefit entitlements for employees, maintain accurate payroll records, and provide payroll information within a department, company or other establishment, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.

The ideal candidate must have strong numeracy skills and be able to multitask effectively. Ultimately, this person should be able to manage all aspects of payroll in a timely and accurate manner.

What We Are Looking ForPost-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or FinanceProficiency with various software / application tools2+ years recent payroll administration experience in a computerized environment.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification is an asset.Ability to work with confidential, sensitive information and maintain discretion.

Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude.Experience with MS Dynamics is an asset.Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.

High level of critical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to create solid processes to support various lines of business finances.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with various software / application tools including Benefit Portals, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).

Demonstrates initiative, a roll up the sleeves mentality and ability to work with a sense of urgency.Your role will encompass the followingEnter, review, and transmit semi-monthly payroll for Canada (Ceridian Powerpay) and US (Trinet) including new hires, terminations, various payments, calculating overtime hours for salaried employees, pay period totals reconciliation, etc.

Create and post payroll GL entries (Canada and US), update and reconcile accrual spreadsheetsInsurance & RRSP Benefits : enroll new employees, update employee changes as needed, terminate previous employees.

Create and post invoice GL entries and reconcile premiums against payroll.Prepare supporting documentation for grantsYear end procedures include balance preliminary reports, create new salary overtime and hourly spreadsheet, update basic exemption amounts and upload annual HCSA deposits, review final year end reportsIssue T4s and T2200s, create and file WorkSafeBC annual return, CNESST statement of wages and EHT annual returnIssue 1099-NEC for US board membersProviding information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
