Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Rental & Retail Coordinator, the Food Services Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the food services department at Conservation Halton.
Responsible for promoting and maintaining the quality standards and efficient operation of the food services department contributing to a positive visitor experience
Support with the management of food inventories to meet business volume, including assisting with ordering, receipt of product, and completing inventory of orders.
Assisting with year end food counts (December 2022)
Work closely with the Rental & Retail Coordinator to develop pre and in season schedules, set up and conduct training sessions, as well as ensure all shift changes within the season are covered and in order to align with business volumes
Mentor and supervise department Leads & and seasonal staff to ensure food and service quality are at expected standards
Responsible for day end close outs (cash handling)
Support the Rental & Retail Coordinator on budget targets associated with foods revenues, menu development, material costs
Ensure the foods areas are stocked daily with food, beverages, supplies and coin
Supervise food services staff on assigned shifts in accordance with all applicable legislation
Ensure that the food service areas comply with applicable health department regulations
Ensure assigned work in accordance with Conservation Halton’s Safety policy and procedures and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Perform other duties as required to contribute to the team effort and achieve the objectives of the department.
Your Qualifications
1-2 years previous related supervisory experience
Knowledge of food services practices and procedures
Experience with managing inventories relating to food services, and control of supply chain.
Customer service skills : able to anticipate the customers’ needs and deliver quality service
Knowledge of point-of-sale systems, operation of cash registers, and experienced with cash handling procedures
Ability to travel to a site not serviced by public transportation
Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
Able to work outside in varying weather conditions
Successful candidates must complete and / or provide a copy of Food Handler Certificate prior to first day of employment
Successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted
