DOZER OPERATOR- FUTURE OPPORTUNITY
The Dozer operator lead the backfill team to ensure that all clay material is placed to appropriate moisture content and density.
They will also responsible for the overall rough grade of the site to ensure proper drainage and allowing for the safe and travel of all trucks on-site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
Ensure that all infrastructure is properly protected before beginning backfill process.
Ensure clay is being placed in appropriately sized lifts.
Work with dirt testers to ensure appropriate moisture content and density of backfill material.
Grade roads for safe travel in and across site.
Instruct and guide track loader and packer operators.
Preform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the organization’s success.
Attend daily / weekly safety meetings and participate in inspections.
Assist with the foreman and safety department to investigate incidents or near misses on the worksite.
SKILLS & ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
High level understanding of all other position’s responsibilities.
Familiar with testing procedures.
Dependable for being on time and prepared for the work ahead.
Ability to problem solve and plan ahead.
Leadership skills and positive attitude.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of 5 years water and sewer experience.
Safety tickets (Ground Disturbance, first aid, CSTS, WHIMIS)
Field work environment
Ability to walk on uneven ground
Requirement to remain sitting for prolonged periods of time
Ability to lift 50lbs
Exposure to outdoor elements and conditions where operating equipment and construction activities take place
Independent Timely Decision making required
